LFD Full Length Roof Rack

DISCLAIMER: I am not ashamed to admit that I am a huge LFD Off Road Fan Boy - Their products and customer service will always have me coming back to them.

Below is my review of the LFD Off Road 7/8ths roof rack. I absolutely loved it, and I got the chance to work with the guys at LFD to help figure out how to not have a bunch of wind noise going down the interstate at 80 MPH with a huge headwind (I have a sunroof = even more noise).

Fast forward 3 years and I now have their full length roof rack which we got right before our trip to Moab in 2019. On that trip, we had some wind noise because we had the old design of front fairing. The new design (curved) that we have now is much better, and makes no noise on my daily Interstate commute.

The 7/8ths rack from LFD is the same width as the stock rack and is longer. The LFD Full Length Rack is wider and allows for gobs of stuff to be mounted on it!

We have since moved the RTT to a trailer (because Garage Life), and use the roof rack for auxiliary cargo area. You can see some overhead shots of our current setup in our Channel Trailer...

Install was easy, took maybe an hour to assemble and install. I did have a second person to help lift it on to the truck. It's pretty straightforward. I have had no leak problems and it fit perfectly.

No noticeable noise for me. I did have a Rola rack up there before this, if anything my new rack is quieter. I'm sure if you go from nothing on the roof to something on the roof, you'll notice at least a little extra sound though.

I watched a Tacoma install vid before installing mine. There are also directions you can pull up on their website. I'd recommend reading the directions as you don't want to over-tighten certain bolts. Install for me took roughly an hour, and I had a friend help me set it on the roof. At 65mph I don't notice much added noise, however on a windy day yes you'll hear it. They did a solid job with the aerodynamics.
 
Thank you everyone for all the responses, I just got a great deal on a Prinsu rack. It was a toss up between an uptop, Prinsu or Sherpa. and since I am only planning on having a shovel and some traction boards it should be ine until I get the 180 awning. I now have to wait for the 6-10 days for it to ship. Thank you everyone again. I just like to be through.

Install was cake. Everything lined up no problems. Only had it up to about 60mph so far but no whistle and noise isn't bad. List price is $750 with free shipping so I don't think anyone is beating that.
 
I just installed the Prinsu full rack and it is silent at 70 or at least as far as I can tell. My Duratrax make more noise...

Solid rack, $900 not bad.

It got mine, it also works with the Sherpa if you don't mind waiting. I read on facebook that the Prinsu is quiet and no noise so a 2 week wait sounds great, The uptop was 2nd on my list but I have never heard of them. Also to be honest they all look the same so there really is no difference.

I have the prinsu full non drill on mine. I like it, minimal wind noise, low profile, modular and was really easy to install and feels extremely sturdy.
 
I was an early adopter for Prinsu for my 3rd gen Tacoma. I ended up getting the Sherpa through truck brigade as well free shipping and discount for vets. Any little thing helps at the moment. I really like my Prinsu on my truck, but the design on the Sherpa is really nice and is worth a few hundred more for me. Most people don't go around swapping different racks. My suggestion is find one that you really want and budget and save for it. Prinsu is great, but I went to Sherpa this time. I won't get it for a few weeks...(Months) I hope not. I can't wait to install it.
 
They take two days or so to respond when I do contacted them via email and I got my rack already.
