Funny NYPD Story

So I was driving home from work yesterday and I stopped at a light. Out of my periphery I notice the window in the van next to me is down and a man is gesticulating inside. I look over and it is an NYPD van and the man is an officer trying to get my attention.

I roll down my window and he asks me to pull over as he has a couple questions he needs to ask me. I'm thinking to myself did I run a light? Did I speed? trying to recall anything I did to get a ticket and can think of nothing. I said "yes sir" and pulled over.

I leave enough space behind me for his vehicle but instead he pulls up next to me. At this moment I don't know what to think. And then this happens, "I have a question for you", he says. "I bought a 4Runner Limited and love it but is a TE worth it?". I'm floored!!! All anybody has to do is feign interest in a TE and I'll blab how great it is let alone ask me to pull over specifically to talk about it. "Do you use the crawl control and multi-terrain select I see on YouTube?" (He gestured to where the nobs are). I told him absolutely I love off roading and encouraged him to get KDSS. "They are near impossible to find", he continued.

My mother owns a '97 black Supra and gets asked all the time by strangers everywhere if she'll sell it. Now i know how se feels haha. It was cool to answer the nice policeman's questions and even happier the conversation ended with me answering this was a 2011 and he congratulated me rather than him handing out a ticket!

Thats funny! I was at the Mobil station on Bay St, and a woman with a 2006 V8 and an NYPD placard in the window came over and started gushing about my truck. Staten Island cops love the TE!

I also was worried about gesticulating... I thought this might be a cop horror story, rather than a laugh-er.

Reminds me of the word masticating.... No one uses masticate in a sentence... sounds too strange:lol::lol:

I find that the 4Runner is very popular in SI. I always have people commenting on my truck there.
