FYI about the Tundra Brake Upgrade.

So I did this upgrade last night and put it in my build thread. But for those that don't look, I just wanted to post my problem here. I did the 199s. I have Lexus Lx450 rims or basically the lc80 rims. These calipers DO NOT clear these rims without some serious grinding/sanding down of the calipers and rims or use of spacers. I wanted to let anyone one know in case they have these rims and are wanting to do this upgrade. Get a grinder with sanding discs and it is possible. Here's where I grinded.

So are you doing that to all 4 wheels, then going to get them rebalanced? That way you can still rotate your tires...

I lucked out and I didn't have that issue, but if I ever had a flat on the front, (thankfully I never did) I'd have to put the spare on the rear and put the rear on the front. Once I moved up to spacers it didn't matter of course.

This is one resource this forum is missing I feel. Spreadsheets with this kind of info in them could help a lot of people.

I am going to get them rebalanced. And yeah I will do the rears also when it's time to rotate.

This is already a known problem but is probably worth restating...and why its a good idea to always SEARCH and RESEARCH a mod before you buy the parts

I did a lot of research. I just completely spaced that I had different rims and that there would be different fitments.

I did all the grinding to the calipers to fit the rims I used. The steel spare don't fit anymore like that but I do have extra aluminum rims like I used to mount a spare and hang it out back.

Or carry a 1/4 inch (or 1/2) spacer. Will work fine in a pinch as long as you aren't driving 1000 miles.

Yeah after I started grinding the rims, I decided to stop and grind the calipers down instead. I only had to grind a little bit off the rest of the wheels that way

Yeah I just saw it after I posted this thread. The one thing I didn't even think to check. Figured it fits my 5 stars so why not? Live and learn. Everything is good now. And all worth it still.

No. They are the s13we. The 199s. If they were the stock calipers, the rims would have fit just fine. [emoji6]

Sorry, my bad. didn't know that the S13WE calipers looked like the S13WM calipers. I've always thought that the 199mm calipers looked liked the 231mm calipers
