Gauging interest in PELFREYBILT rear bumper/TC

This is very much in the conception stage, so don't get your hopes up yet. O spoke briefly with Pelfreybuilt and they agreed to entertain the idea of doing some rear bumpers if we could garner some interest and secure a 4runner in the San Diego area for fitment.

Step 1: Is there anyone who would be willing to swing by their shop so they could take a look at the rear bumper/crossmember?

Feel free to search TW for more threads. I think they could fill a valuable spot in the market and hopefully offer an alternative to CBI.

I think you'll get a lot of interest if the pricing is the same, much cheaper than the only other real alternative - CBI.

Extremely interested if they decide to offer something with better ground clearance than the CBI. Would require cutting the rear crossmember out, not a huge deal for some but a deal breaker for others.

What cross member are you guys referring to exactly? Are you talking about the frame end?

Not sure if I could swing the coin to buy one, unless they'd be willing to offer a discount for the guinea pig. I'd be happy to spend a few hours with them. She's my DD, so no sleepovers for her. Keep me posted. Have a 2006

I could drop off my truck there for few days, I live about 50 miles north of SD.

I would want to know how it will look like first. I really like CBI's rear bumper, but I would want the sides of the bumper not to go up so high.

Fyi Just sharing I just found out this week Cbi makes a new ( to me anyways ) they call it the "hybrid " bumper it looks very minimal and to me is exactly what I was hoping to build myself one day but now has been done and only 800$ for the base model and like 1399 with swing out carrier etc looks light weight unlike every other 4th gen rear they always look so bulky , anyways just thought I'd share here's link ,
