Gear oil and transfer case oil; 75w 90 all around?

I notice that Amsoil says that their 75w 90 can substitute for 80w 90, which is what is needed for the rear diff. Front diff and transfer case calls for 80w 90.

Pep Boys has Mobil 1 75w 90 on sale online for 8.79 a quart.

Do you guys run 75w 90 in the front and rear diff and the transfer case? Mobil 1 has synthetic 75w 90 but I can't find it in 80w 90.

Yes you can. I run Red Line 75-90 in everything except the M/T- Red line MT 90 for that.

Toyota often spec'ed 80W-90 as a very standard grade for lots of gearboxes. It's the same as what they specified in the 1980's and oil technology has improved somewhat since then. Unless you're in very hot temps 75W-90 is the best all around choice.

It's extra hot for extra long here in tejas so I've run wally's rear end wonder oil (75-140 synthetic) on diffs/tc for about 8 yrs now, all good and leak free. :cowboy:

Auto parts stores sell valvoline 80w-90 in gallon. I use it in everything except my transmission. Although I have used it in my transmission before.

I use their 75-140 in the rear and the 75-90 in everything else.
