again, a Tahoe is a full-size SUV—not a mid-size SUV (like the 4Runner). it's not that it's an unfair comparison "to me"— these distinctions are recognized industry-wide... like, oh, say, Edmunds for example:
seriously, i'm not trying to be hard on you, but you're simply way off. i sympathize with your buyer's remorse, but it hardly seems a reasonable coping strategy to join an enthusiast's forum and whinge about how your new rig makes you want to barf. perhaps if you'd researched your purchase a bit more prior to making a decision you wouldn't have found yourself in the position you're in now. :violin:

What kind of mileage are you getting?
Dislikes: Cargo area could use some more light, the Antenna and I wish the tires had a bit bigger sidewall.
Likes: Everything else.....so far. IMHO this is 4runner (my 4th by the way) is far nicer inside and out then my last 2008 limited. I dont care about the memory seats being Im the only one who drives it. The Nav system, voice control, bluetooth so far is flawless. Love the Nav screen and radio controls much much better. Really enjoying the more headroom, leg room and that sliding rear deck is great and very useful. Keyless entry is great.....I can go on but you get the picture, like I stated in another post, what V8?

Ok If "we" all can't play nice I am going to email Chris or someone and ask them to close the post. Shees....The whole point of this thread was to iron out the little things that you find out about a vehicle only after you buy one. Happens with all vehicles...not just 4Runners. I found lots of little things I both love and don't love so much on my 07 after I bought it. I appreciate all the positive feedback.
However...
Your comments like these are only meant to trash a vehicle. If you are honestly unhappy with your vehicle more details as to what you don't like about it. Don't just whine about it. I am sure I am just going to upset you but here goes.....let's see if we can make this constructive....
I agree on this one...my 07 limited has memory seats...not a deal breaker but seems like a cost savings item on Toyota's part.
You are mistaken....heated mirrors are available. Apparently this information is hidden but they are available. I also made this mistake originally.
When does this happen? And what are you doing that you find the truck lacks power? Towing, hills, etc...lots of people have mentioned there is a TSB which changes the shift points with the ECT which seems to correct this issue. Have you had the TSB done? (are you still unhappy after the TSB?)
Explain...useless how so? Do the controls not work? I don't expect miracles from the rear wiper but it is summer now...in what situations have you found the wiper to not function as designed and/or expected?
Would you like to elaborate on this one? Which controls aren't lighted? Just a dumb question but have you checked (I am assuming on the 2010s there is a control) the interior dimmer switch to make sure it's at maximum brightness?
Again...want to elaborate? Yes the vehicle has a NAV....what do you find you like or dislike about it? What does your phone do that the vehicle NAV doesn't?

This has long been a complaint on the 4th gens. Most people don't rotate their spare and it is almost always the spare. Check your spare tire once a month and chances are you won't have this issue. Some people have mentioned that they pay extra for N2 fill ups. I don't really buy into this as I 4wheel often and air up/down all the time. Why waste money on N2? Anyway, I have been told by several people (can't attest to it personally) that when they started using N2 in the spare it stopped throwing the TPMS code as often.
I am not sure what to say here....if you buy a 4R for its fuel economy then you deserve what you get IMHO. Unless you are getting less than what the average user gets around town, then there isn't much to worry about.
If you are honestly that unhappy with your 4R I would recommend trading it for something you love. You will be driving it for along time...why not drive something you enjoy. Now if "we" can't all get along I will ask one of the moderators to close the tread.
eace:So far nothing we have heard has been a deal breaker. It has also been very helpful to have these tidbits...gives you stuff to look at more closely when you go back to the dealer.

Where do you live? I am in the rocky mountains almost every weekend and still average 21-22mpg per tank. I also just drove 1,600 miles and averaged 21mpg with a 3in lift and upgraded tires.

People are going to disagree, whether its (funky) chrome strips on the doors, (butt ugly) hood protectors or mods that don't seem smart* - its all about sharing knowledge and opinions - which I believe is why most of us visit this site. Obviously most of have a great affinity for our 4Runners - and we simply have to show the love for those who just haven't figured it out (yet).
*of course smart could mean being seriously envious. :cowboy:

Well it is only rated for 17mpg in the city. So now it makes more sense. Maybe get a prius?
It also depends on (main factors): how you drive it, the gas you use, tire pressure and how the car is maintained(not really applicable yet)

The only real bothersome thing for me is that when I set my seat distance for what should be comfortable, my right knee hits the keys and the edge of the console/dash. Maybe I'm just not use to having to use keys since I drove a push button GS300 for two years before getting my TE. When I put the seat back a little further so that my knee isn't contacting the keys or dash, I feel like I am looking out the back seat window while driving. I have been meaning to mess with the seat controls a bit to see if i can find a better setting. Other than that, it feels good to be back in a 4runner again after a two year hiatus.
Oh...another thing that's actually good but can cause issues is the back power window. The only problem with it is that there is very little wind noise from it, so you tend to forget it is down. The other night I came home and forgot to put it up and we got a nice South Florida downpour that night. Luckily it was only down half way and the rear spoiler blocked a lot of the water, but I did have a little cleaning up to do in the morning.
