Checked my mileage when I filled up a few days ago, didn't even hit 17 where should be getting probably closer to 19-20(driving 15-20 miles on the freeway twice a day), and my steering is feeling weird as hell, kinda loose and just..off. Also, the front tires seem to be wearing more on the inside compared to the rears.
Got an alignment from Sears via a one year plan, everything except the caster was in spec afterwards, and the readout said they centered the wheel, but it's still cocked left. Sears mechanic suspects rack bushings, my dad thought maybe the CV's binding up(both have torn upper boots, have for a while), I'm thinking maybe something with the ball joints. I don't really have much money to throw around, in school and can't seem to find a job yet, so I'm trying to find an economical solution. Not to mention I have exactly 0 tools where I am now. I already bought one CV, but it's about 4 hours away and should make its way down this weekend.
Anyways, just wanted to pick your brains and see what everyone thinks might be the issue.
Things that have been replaced: steering rack, left outer tie rod, right steering knuckle(I think it was that side..)
Probably need to be replace:all the ball joints(little bit of leakage on the top left, one of the bolt heads stripped on the lower left while trying to change the CV, leading to me and my dad getting pissed and putting everything back together), both CV's(not a whole lot of noise, but 2 torn upper boots)
