I have a 2008 V8.

I have just about had it with the jaloppy sound from my cracked manifolds. I'm goign to pull the trigger on the Pacesetters.

Who has actually done this on an 06+? How did you get rid of the CEL?

I hear people say "oh it's easy" - which I'm happy to hear, but I'd like to know exactly what you did :bounce:

+1 on this. I have the same issue and if I am going to spend that much money would be nice to get rid of the extra cats behind the manifold/cat setup. Don't know if it can be done on these but would really be worth it in my opinion. Sorry, hope it doesn't look like I'm hijacking your thread!

I'm in the middle of this right now. I purchased a set of Pacesetters for an 03/04 based on some forums saying you just needed some block off plates. I did not see any current Pacesetters for our years. Looking now at what I have on the vehicle, I don't think these will work at all. The secondary air injection has its own ports on the head.

It looks like OEM replacements are as cheap as 400, and I don't see any major improvements on those magnaflow ones... not sure I'd bother.

One thing that struck me as I did this was that there isn't much protecting the engine bay from wheel well spray (2 small plastic flaps with holes and lack of coverage of other areas). Hot engine components do poorly when washed down with water. I'm going to be custom making some liners to make sure that isn't going to continue happening.

- Where exactly did you find OEM replacements for $400 a pop?

- if I'm paying for this myself I'm fundamentally against OEM. This is a flawed product - it WILL break again and I'm not spending a dime on it.

- I wanted to buy the Magnaflow ones, but the guy selling them on Amazon couldn't be bothered to answer a question about them so I'm back to square one.

I'm using Tundra headers and having a shop put them on for me. He has to move the dipstick tube a little and massage around the steering shaft a little.
