Just got back from the dealer, took the Limited out for another spin. Dang-it, that truck feels underpowered. I'm sure some of it has to do with the 5.7 V8 im currently used to but is anyone with me on this?
I feel like the pedal has to go to the floor to get that thing to move.
with that said though...it drives even better than I remember from my first test drive a couple months ago. Leather feels nicer, smells better, fit and finish is commensurate with the price tag . Guess im back on the Toyo Train.
Gawd I just hope that a TRD Supercharger kit is available soon.
These dual VVT-i roller rockered engines in the 5th Gens. take awhile to break-in. For the first 1000 miles, I babied mine and when I first started getting on it after that I was kinda disappointed. But the power has kept getting better and better as the engine broke in more. At 5000+ miles now ,I can honestly feel the 270 HP/278 ft/lbs of torque and have no problems passing or merging on the highway. It is there!
Now my GF's 3.4L in her 3rd Gen Limited that I drove today,that's a different story.Those need a Supercharger.

Personally I think this has more 'get up and go' than my last 5.9L V8.
Couldn't have been a Tundra....my current truck would smoke the new 4R....towing a small boat.![]()
would LOVE to see a 4R with a 5.7L *drool*.
