Would someone with a gobi ladder be able to post up some pics of the upper and lower mounting points if you have them? I just bought a used front runner rack off a fellow forum member, and am thinking about fabbing up a ladder for it. I would like to see gobi's mounting soulution for some ideas. Specifically, how it is anchored on top to allow opening and closing of the hatch (a hinge of some kind i imagine) and if the bottom just rests on the hatch or if it cups over the bottom lip. Thanks in advance!

possibly just buy a gobi ladder?? time and materials probably cheaper that way
It is pretty much a plate on top of spoiler that has set screws underneath to pin it and two bolts on top of it to mount top of ladder
Then just pinched onto bottom of the hatch with a bracket and a shock absorber between the hatch and ladder
if you want to come to Kent you can look mine over if still interested

Thanks mooney And matt for the info and link, very helpful. Its not the cost thats the driving factor here, i just like to go through the process of desigining and making things on my own when i can. Its more rewarding to me than buying a pre-made piece.
I plan on using 1" square ss tubing as i think it it will match the square look of the front runner rack better.
