Do you have a link to the Icon wheels? I like the FX Pro's but I don't love them. I honestly don't love any wheel that i've seen yet on a 4R so i'm always open to options.

Bigger rims and tires

Hello all, I just purchased my 1st Toyota ever I bought a 2017 SR5 Premium and I would like to add some all terrains and some custom rims going bigger then what's on it stock however every shop I have gone to or called tells me different. I've been told I need bigger shocks up front and rear with spacers to push out the tires etc...I would just like to enjoy my TOY on some mild trails were I live in AZ please help!

I have them and i'm happy with them. Only place to buy them is direct from FN Wheels as far as I know. I'm lifted 3" front, 3" rear, 295/70/17 Ridge Grapplers, no BMC, just unbolted the lower front fender liner from the bottom side of the bumper, moved it forward, bolted it back in, and trimmed a little plastic. Back has a slight squat due to having a set of 4 285/70/17 KO2's back there and I was parked on a slight downhill.

Any pictures of your truck and the wheels in the sunny/bright side, I always look at it and the wheels are always in the shadows (lol). I am just trying to get a feel for the glossy gunmetal FN's, I am torn between the trd pros in black and the FN gunmetals and even matte black, I am also starting to like the Ikon Alphas with grey center and black bead lock.

Guess not lol but I will get one tomorrow and post up. They're glossy and can be as shiny as your paint if you polish and wax them.

Thanks, that is helpful but i think the FN;s are much, much darker. I have a MGM, they look great with the blue, nice rig. Thanks for sharing. Are those 275 or 285?

Correct. FN wheels are darker than the MGM body paint. They are also lighter and wider than the stock TRD wheels and they have less back spacing. All around a better wheel and more suited for the width of a 285 or bigger.

Would 285/70/17's fit on stock sr5 rims? I just ordered a set of KO2's and am now realizing I should have done more research on the rim size...

I need some advice on wheel specs for moving to 17" wheels from 20"... i posted a message in a different thread, and@bossman directed me to this thread....
I have a 2012 4Runner Limited which currently has 20" wheels and tire size of 245/60R20. I live in Colorado, and am often driving in snow/ice during the winter. I would like to put a good set of All-Terrain tires on my 4runner which would be good for both highway/summer and winter/snow conditions. The tires I would like to use are BF Goodrich ALL-TERRAIN T/A KO2 Tire Size: 265/70R17.
* what are the recommended specs for the 17" wheels that i should purchase?

* anyone have any specific recommendations for 17" wheels, or recommendations for knowledgeable wheel sellers who will be able to properly advise me?

*what should the wheel offset be on the 17" rim (From online research that i've done, my current OEM 20" wheels have either a 12mm offset or a 15mm offset)

* do i need to worry about other details such as wheel backspace?

* any other advice/suggestions appreciated.

Any wheel retailer can fit you up properly. Discount tire works and if you want something decent go to SCS wheels. Good luck.

Tire Fitment Guide off?

I just installed 275/70r17s BFG K02s with TRD Pro wheels on my stock 2014 Limited.

There is quite a bit of rub only in reverse when turning (mainly on the front right). Not a big deal, I am going to trim or use the heat gun trick; buttttt just thought I would point out. The fit guide says its "green" with 275s, not the case in my experience

Toyotech lift, total chaos UCAs, spider traxx spacers, Nitto Terra Grappler G2 AT and a little trimming. No rub.. Mostly. I do plan to replace the front bumper with a new one from CBI and that should completely remove the minor rub I get at full lock.

I've spent the past couple of hours searching and reading tire threads and still haven't found what I'm looking for. Doesn't mean it's not there, just that I did make an effort and couldn't find it. Apologies in advance since I'm sure it HAS been answered somewhere.

I'm interested in the 5th Gen Limited and want to swap the 20" tires for 17s.

I found this on one of the threads:

The LE trim should be able to fit any wheel that can fit on the SR5 or TE trim as far as I know. That means anything bigger than or equal to 17'' with a 6 lug pattern (6 x 139.7 mm)

Is that accurate?

which seems like it would work and I really like the look of it. And, I'm pretty sure it's one that was recommended on one of the threads.

BUT, I'm confused. According to Wikipedia (we can trust that, right?? ), a stock 5th Gen has a curb weight of ‎4,400–4,805 lb.

But, that Stealth 6 wheel says, "Max load: 2100lbs"

So, wouldn't that rule out the Stealth 6? Or (just thought of this) would we actually divide the curb weight by the 4 tires to get a load of 1,100 to 1,200 lbs? I guess that would make sense, I suppose.

Bottom line questions:

* Will the Stealth 6 work on a 5th Gen Limited?
* Will 285/70r17 fit on a Stealth 6?
* Are there other wheels I should be considering (for quality or performance -- I don't need additional cosmetic options)?

The fitment chart indicates I'd need minor mods to avoid rubbing (I guess, depending on the tire model), assuming the Stealth 6 and 285/70r17 work together.

That rim is fine and will work. The weight of your truck is divided by 4, 4 wheels, one at each corner so you're more than safe with that rim. You will need a lift to fit the 285/70/17 of you can do some trimming and live with some rubbing, that choice is yours. I'm running a 295/70/17 on a 17x8 wheel with 4.5" BS and 0 offset. I'm lifted 3" and with 1* of camber I had rubbing on the lower inner edge of the front bumper but nothing on the body mount. With slight bumper trimming I have plenty of room.
