Actually, I'm kinda surprised at the poll, it's pretty much been dead even the entire time with almost 40 votes now. Looks like the off road stuff will happen 1st, but the dent will be fixed (as cheap as possible) too. Best of both worlds!

The 4 tires shipped was $672.00 (on ebay) and the 4 wheels shipped was $272.65 from summitracing.com for a grand total of $944.65 OTD. Not too shabby IMO. Now I just have to decide if I want to sell my 285 Dunlops or keep them for the next few winters. They have at least 95% treadlife left and have about 4K miles on them if anyones interested. I'll sell them with or without my stock wheels too.

wow i think those prices are great! i might have to do more searching since i NEED new 285s or something similar and have been wanting diff rims too.

UPDATE:
Then they made me go to an "approved" body shop and they estimated the labor at a ridiculous 8 hours to do the entire job - R&R bumper and qtr panel, pounding, welding, filling, sanding, repainting, everything - in 8 hours!! The check they were going to send me was for only $1300.

I would have loved to see the faces on the body shop personnel when you went back to them and said, "OK, do the work and I'll give you the name of the licensed body shop to which you'll send it directly for assessment of quality. And the insurance company will be paying direct INCLUDING any overages you feel need to be paid."

I'd also submit a complaint to the BBB and your state insurance comptroller. Just because you caught them trying to defraud you doesn't mean they didn't attempt it.

So true. There was definitely something fishy going on with their approved body shop. They were very hestitant about making up an estimate for replacing the qtr panel - they only wanted to do a repair estimate because they said "the insurance co will never go for a replacement, only repair." I told them that's between me and the insurance co. so mind your own Ps and Qs and just do what I ask. I knew right then that body shop would definitely NOT be getting my business ever. I'll bet the vast majority of people wouldn't even question it and just take whatever they get, but I'm a tightwad and proud of it!
