Grill Needs Repainting from Previous Body Work

I took my 4R into the body shop last February to get a quite a bit of work done due to a windstorm. Yesterday, as I cleaned the dust and dirt off from a weeklong camping trip (pics still to come), I noticed a large section where the paint is coming off. You can see it to the right of the headlight.

What I'm wanting is to make sure that this would be on the grille that is mentioned on the statement of work done:

Do you think that the grille in my pictures would be the same as the grille mentioned in the statement?

I'm calling the bodyshop today to double check their warranty.

When they talk about the grille, its the whole assembly. Even if you were to go through toyota, you can't just get that top trim, it comes with the whole thing.

If they don't repaint it, I have plenty of extra grille trims sitting in my garage. Just pm me if you're interested.

That estimate does indicate the shop painted your grill and they should repair it and refinish it under their warranty. My guess would be they didnt use adhesion promoter, thats why the paint is peeling.

Update

I went to the body shop on Friday and showed the issue are to the same body shop that worked with us back in February. We went out and looked at the area shown in the pictures, and he agreed that tit looks like it wasn't prepped correctly.

The large area where the paint came off is glass smooth underneath. He said that it should be a bit rough to the touch, and that is to allow the paint to adhere to the grille. So... I'll be heading back next week for them to redo the grille.

While I wish I didn't have to deal with this at all, it's nice that they're taking the steps to fix their work and not try to get out of their mistakes.

That grille is available prepainted through Toyota. I know, I just got one. I would ask for a replacement instead of repair. I don't know why they didn't do that in the first place. It's only $130 or so. That's less than the labor to fix it.
