Grumbling when slowing

It was my skid plate making contact with my transfer case. Since been fixed.

hey, sorry I just read this post. It seems like you finally have a handle on the problem, but if you still have issues the TSB number is: TSB-0175-10 and has to do with the front differential assembly. I had the same issue about a year ago. It was not present in 4WD. My dealer looked at the TSB and fixed it immediately. I hope you have the same results that I did. I have a copy of the TSB and work done if you need it, and would be happy to scan and send it to you. I have had zero issues since it was fixed. Don't give up on your truck yet and start looking for something else! Good luck.

funny timing: i've been trying to track down a noise/rattle/grumble/rumble that's only present ~15 mph. was getting paranoid and dreading the thought of waving another TSB at the dealer.

after checking the whole exhaust system, cats, heat shields everything seemed tight. banged on my aft skid (one with the oil drain panel) a couple times and thought it could be the culprit so i took it off to test. only driven it once since then but i think it may the problem as i didn't hear the grumble.

was your skid actually making contact? i think mine is just picking up some resonance somewhere.

yeah just barely. Then I think the noise was resonating through the rest of the skids to the front.

That's good to hear and hopefully you identified the problem. When I had mine in, they made no mention of the skid plates. It was definitely the front differential and it went away when I put it in 4WD. They took care of it, though, and no problems since then.
