ok, so its not actually being made "retro" its modding the old equip to fit the new projection style..

but why not just buy some 01-02 headlights and put those on, those are projection.

01-02 aren't projectors, they're just clear lenses...projectors are concave lenses that work like the lens on a laser pointer, or the way you used to use a magnifying glass to sautee ants, it focuses and aims the light in a predictable pattern
 
I needed to update this with at least a couple pictures. These are not yet aimed to precision but a decent angle on each with no blinding to drivers. Check out the cutoff and output. And with a backup pair of bulbs I don't see any reason to knock this product

Tell me again how you aim these things? Using the headlight adjustment screws or at the projector itself?

You use the headlight screws. The projector mounts snug into the housing, so you just have to adjust the backing to get the beam at the right height and depth
 
hey millerpka... so im thinking bout doing this but i was wondering did u order the low-high kit or just the low kit from ddmtuning?

I ordered my HIDs from ddmtuning with the low-high kit but the focus point does not change???? still waiting for them to get back to me.:confused:

We're just getting cold and rain. We got our miracle a couple weeks ago I doubt this place will ever see snow. Doesn't matter though I finish my degree in June then I'm outta here!
 
Saw in the other thread that others have obviously not seen the cutoff of these projectors, so instead of whining just click back a page. Search search search, you're lucky I took time from my spring break to accommodate these lazy inquiries :bigok:

These lights are working flawlessly man. I end up having a conversation about them every other week or so it seems haha. The halo's look great with the amber in the corners I think and haven't quit on me once. For the first time in over 6 months my passenger side bulb was out the other day, but I turned the lights off and back on and voila. Not a single problem since. Highly recommended!
 
Curious, I was reading up on this on TTORA and didn't catch it in the thread (reading on my phone so I might have missed it) but did you do the modification for the cut off or did you just leave the G3's as they came?
 
Is there anyway you would be able to do an ebay search and then post the link so that I know what I'm looking at. The old link doesn't seem to be working anymore. :biggrin2:
