H/T tires worth swapping out ASAP?

Hey All,

I purchased a used 4x4 05 v8 SR5 and the dealership had new Bravo H/T tires put on. I want to swap them out, but they are literally brand new. And tires are not cheap.

I have a little Boykin pup that we are training. We drive down dirt roads and across a lot of fields/pasture to get to suitable ponds and training grounds. Nothing major.

I have never taken H/T tires off road. Am I asking to get stuck if I leave the H/T on?

In an ideal world, I would get a suspension lift, new tires, and a recovery setup. But I'm trying to keep my pennies and dimes in my bank account for a while in case big maintenance expenses come up.

I would guess they would be fine for dirt roads and pasture use unless it really rains and gets soupy because all the morons tear it up, then your tires would never clean out.

Depends if your dirt roads are the "well maintained gravel" type or "mostly dirt and tiny pebble" type though.

You probably won't get stuck if its dry.

Use them for now. You will know after driving with them how much dirt and grass they can handle

I agree with what most are saying, use the tires that are on it and save up for what you really want, if you see the tires are a big issues after using them a while, then buy the tires you want and sell the dealer tires on Graig's List.

Bought my 4Runner with Bridgestone Dueler H/Ts with about 3/5 treadlife left in them. They've been on plenty of fire roads and even some mild terrain climbing. You'll be fine.
