Thats awesome. and to answer everyones questions, NO Im not saying that cat back and weight reduction is what makes it fast. well the weight reduction helped. all it took was some one that I know that has a rediculous amount of knowledge for the 5vz.

The numbers dont lie man...what in the world makes you think that any stock 4runner is going to keep up with any V8 truck that has ATLEAST 100 extra HP, even if the truck is an additional 1000 lbs? Cmon man, who are you kidding?? My supercharged runner would have a hard time doing that. Besides, any V8 has torque DOWN LOW....not after 50mph. I am just giving you the FACTS, which is something you cannot argue against.
Anyone who posts such idiotic things on a public forum is asking for FLAMING. I have an open mind, but you are making yourselves look like idiots, i dont have have to help you out with that.

That's great that you can look at stuff on the internet and tell me what should happen. I'm telling you that I did it and that it happened. I also was able to beat out of my friend's stick V6 Mustang. Don't believe me? I can have him register real quick and tell you right here. Don't be a debbie downer because you have no interest in making your truck fast. Honestly, unless you are using your 4R to tow semi trucks, rip trees out of the ground, or climb 50 degree slopes, you don't need your S/C at all. Sell it to me or Matt! :bigok:

Let's be honest, the 4Runner can be fast. When I had my smaller diameter tires (the stock 225's) I could keep up with my friends' V8 Tundra and Ram up to about 50MPH where their torque would take over.

I'd feel inclined to go out and tape myself doing a 0-60, but I haven't changed my transmission fluid in forever and I already smell something funny every time I give it a hard time (i.e. switching to 2 or stepping on it to merge)

Also, keep in mind that I have a 2WD with no fancy heavy stuff, no lift, and no ridiculous mudder tires. I would guess that 2WD and 4WD (both automatic) would have about a 10-15% difference in wheel HP because of the nature of the drivetrain. I can't imagine the T4R 4WD system was engineered for maximizing wheel HP.

I just had my head rebuilt (on the engine lol) and that was a bit of an eye opener too. I realized how much power my runner has lost over the last 9 years. Oh and just so everyone knows my runner just went through pretty much an entire overhaul so dont be talkin smack till you see the numbers.

By all means, im not gonna run 13's while N/A. And its really not that hard. Its just expensive. (The following does not reflect my opinions on Civics...I still hate em) You know 10 years ago no body thought a civic could run 12's but i just saw one on youtube that ran a 9. Its stupid and im not aiming for 9's Im aiming for as fast as possible while still being street legal.

thanks , that makes perfect sense now, youre the one needing a rebuild but we dont take care of our rigs :bigok: Do the math man, less than 190 HP, weighs over 4,000 lbs, not exactly a rocket there bud and as i recall youre puttin on the smack so enlighten us on your all powerful runner

actually i think you over estimate "the powers of a 4th gen" my dads runner really isnt that fast. Now in torque, ya hes got me. I have hard time pulling the band equiment trailer and he...doesnt. I got the overhaul becuase im turning my 4runner into a race...suv not for maintenance. And hell, for all you know i just strapped a rocket to the back of it. Just wait, but still keep up the arguing. Im enjoying it way too much.

maybe you thought you were racing a V8 tundra, or ram truck, when all they were doing is taking a sunday drive. yeah, im callin bullshit on that!
I dont think i would be bragging about outrunning some V6 mustang. You actually think that is fast? did you just get through smokin some crack?
When i bought the 4runner, i really didnt care to make it fast, because it isnt made to be fast. The thing handles like it is a 64 impala, and the brakes suck. I did, however get a great deal on the supercharger, so i figured why not. It definitely puts less strain on the engine while driving on the interstate.
id rather start with a better platform, Like a 93 rx7, or C5 corvette. Even an e36 BMW is a better choice. You guys are gonna be killed if you go around driving your 4runner like it is a sportscar.

Stupid thought i am sure, but when I see drag racers both wheels spin out at the start (no limited slip differential, right?) Would the "grey wire" mod that allows you to lock the rear axle in any gear (if you have the factory e-locker), help you out. would powering BOTH wheels in 2H on a straight run of track give you more gusto?!

You got tough skin to keep coming back and sharing your thoughts. I for one am happy to recieve them...

listen, im gonna wish you guys luck in whatever you want to accomplish with your runners, and just leave it at that. i will refrain from giving any advice any longer, because it seems that you are not interested in hearing it. Some people just have to find out for themselves.
