Yeah I was planning on doing a CBI rear bumper eventually...and thought maybe this might expedite the process...

You didn't see the tread for that mod?? You should do an alternate search before you ask any type of question as simple as that!!

only issue is the scratches go up pretty high so I'll probably have to get a new bumper anyway...

Anyone with a CBI bumper know how high up it goes on the sides and if I'd be able to still use the pieces? it looks like the cbi cuts the bumper below all the dents and stuff so I couldnt just get rid of it totally...

Well looks like a new bumper could be in your future. In the grand scheme of the world if thats the worst thing that happens to you (or any of us) in a given week then we all have it good.

On a side note I bet with a heat gun, a bar/fist to push out the dents and polishing compound you could get that to look 10x better then it does now. Just something to consider if you want/need to live with it for a while while a new bumper is made etc.

That's a bummer. Glad it wasn't worse. I was gonna ask if you lived in CO when I saw the extendo light bar on the cop car, then I saw "Denver, CO" in your sig. I miss it out there. Good luck getting everything repaired and/or upgraded!
