35s are awesome for a truck that's primarily a wheeler. For a go-anywhere truck that still gets daily driven, I think 33s are where it's at. Your CV axles and tie rod ends will thank you, too.
Got lift cleaned, painted and ready to install. Then I run into the lower control arm bolt from hell. I fought the bolt for 2 and a half hrs to no avail. So 1 bolt has put a stop to all momentum.
I made progress tonight, got that damn bolt out and was able to install the lift. I can honestly say I'm impressed with the kit, seems to be well built. I'm also happy with the lift height, now i just need to grab some 35s.
It's about that time to sell my shocks and tires now. Rancho nitro 8000s
Got the clutch on and started dropping the engine in but ran into a small problem with the trans plate. Had to stop because the phillies started at 7 lol, motor will be in and hopefully running tomorrow.
I was so spooked to turn the key after I replaced the head on mine, I think I screwed around for at least an hour finding things to do before I cranked it, lol.
Took a little while but she started last night, only problem is a vacuum leak near the intake somewhere that is causing a loud whistle noise and a rough idle. Feels so good when accelerating tho, nice and smooth.
The truck is up and running, everything is awesome. The one problem I ran into was the rear shackles. They were nasty and in pretty bad shape so I decided to weld on new shackles from sky-manufacturing. Basically just need to fine tune the timing a little better and put miles on it. Looking forward to the next wheeling trip.
Ya man all went well. Took a little longer because we lost a couple people at work and I'm working 60hrs a week. When we going out man, we should make a wheeling and fishing trip.
