Headlights / upgrade

I will be doing an HID conversion soon, but instead of using the stock headlight "glass", or bucket with the diffusion type lens, I would like to use a completely clear one. I have seen them on different types of trucks (Chevrolet comes to mind), but don't know where to get them. Has anyone out there used them, or can point me in a direction?
And as long as lighting is the subject...waaayy back in time (yes, I'm probably older than most here), these lights,

used to be the best on the market. I have been away from the four wheel drive field for some time now, haven't kept up with alot of it, and don't know what is the hot ticket these days. I want function, not a fashion statement...these used to be the sh*t.

I've been looking into aux lights myself. Folks seem to like PIAAs and Lightforce a lot, but I dunno if they're worth the price tag unless you're doing a lot of night wheeling.

My purpose is self preservation. As some know, I make two 600 mile trips between Klamath falls and Yakima Washington a month...between K Falls and Bend, it's a Bambi gallery on hwy 97...I saw over twenty deer standing on the side of the highway just waiting to jump in front of my new bumper on the last trip...I need lotsa light. The clear headlights would help, and the Cepeks used to be the best. I don't need a "brand name", I don't care what's "cool" these days, I just want some light that will reach out and touch something. Bang for the buck (no pun intended) is what I want.

Oh, deer (pun intended), that'd be a reason to shell out the big bucks. And yeah, I used to drive Eugene to Kfalls once a week. If I was anywhere between Oakridge and Chiloquin at dusk, I just pulled over and waited.

I bought a set of headlights from roundeyes.com, they are crystal clear and allow the option of changing/upgrading bulbs. Very nice headlights

I actually just installed a 10000k hid kit in my 95 that I got off ebay for 149. the kit itself is a pain in the arse to figure out, but most definately quite a bit of "bang for thr buck" that youre looking for. it comes with two extra bulbs and two extra ballasts. certainly worth it, and not too much modification to the headlight assembly itself.

All replys understood and appreciated, and the HID portion of what I'm doing is easy to find...what I would like is the clear "housing" the bulb installs in...what would normally be the sealed beam (bulb) or lens/refractor part of the light. I have fouind them for 96 and newer, but not my 94...still looking.
