hello all, just wanted to introduce myself since i have been posting/reading a lot this week.
I got my 05 in JAN06 because i took a travel nursing job from my home in las vegas, nv and needed something that could haul a uhaul trailer every 13 weeks for new contract jobs/moves plus something capable enough to haul a boat and tons of dive gear off road to distant off the beaten path dive locations around the Mohave. To be honest I had sold GM trucks for 4 years and really picked the 4runner for the gas milage (I still get avg 20.9 mpg w traffic and ac!). i didn't even know about it's offroad capabilities!
My truck has been to NV, CA, OR, UT, CO, AZ, NM, TX, LA, AL, MS, AL, GA, FL, SC, NC, VA, WV, MD, DC, DE, PA, NJ, NY, CT, RI, MA, VT, NJ, ME, WY, MT, NE, Mexico and Canada. Crossed the country like six times plus two times canada to mexico. The lowest elevation i have driven through is almost 300 feet below sea level off road in death valley national park and the highest is over 12,000 feet in rocky mountain national park.
Mods wish list: 3" Lift, Winch, Rock Sliders, Lightbar for my basket rack, HID lights, Shrockworks rear bumper with spare tire carrier (if they get off their butts and make one), oh and twin Browning M2's, an M256, oh and a roof mounted rail gun, but that last one might be cost prohibitive.
