I just wanted to say Hi and to say I am a proud owner of a 2003 LTD V8 4Runner.

Thai, I saw you link from 4x4wire and this site is much nicer :)

I love the new SUV. Rides smooth and looks great. I just wish
i could have gotten the NAV in the car, but it was hard to find one in NJ.

The color is the Galatic Gray. I went with the LTD because the other 2 models had the ugly molding which my wife and I didn't like. The Light Running boards sold me :D

Hope I can learn and make new friends here. My first project is i would like to get HID lights for the 4Runner. Anyone have any recommendations ?

Thanks again

congrats....i have a limited too... I'm gonna go for the phillips 6000k kits from suvlights.com. I had a 6000 kit in my explorer, but I sold it cause they were 9007 lights. the 4 Runner uses 9006 lights, which are very easy to find kits for.

Which one did you get ? Tell me how they are when you put them on. I am still trying to find a good one to get.

Are you going to put any performance parts on your car ?

What color and options did you get ?

Take care and have a Happy New Year

well i didn't buy it yet. Im gonna get the phillips kit. I used to have an eagleeye kit that i bought from midnightmoose.com

I loved them, so i really want them on the 4 runner. I got the Titanium silver with every option except for nav. They are very hard to find. As of now no plans for any mods really...except for the HIDS...maybe a supercharger when they finish making it.... not sure...i was debating the stereo, but right now it will be hard to find dash kits for the 4 runner...don't want to mess too much with a car this expensive... I love it though...

as far as the HIDS, phillips makes good kits. The 6000k are alittle bluer, the 4100k are very white...they may have a slight higher light output...most of the times the higher temp kits produce less light due to the color. I would not reccomend over 6000k though. I'm debating the 4100, my roomate had them on his 98' accord and it looked very nice.

Nav system & HID lights

My (leased) '03 4Runner Limited 4WD V8 is one week old today. I got the Nav system (it's a company car and I travel a lot) and have been happy with it for the most part. The layout of the software on-screen buttons practically overlap the hardware dash buttons surrounding the screen, so it's easy to hit the OPEN button (flipping the display screen away) when you try to change the map scale, for example.

The '03 Toyota nav system is an improvement over the '01 Acura system I've been using for the past two and a half years. The Toyota system is much faster at finding routes and dealing with detours. I haven't delved into all the feautres of the Toyota system yet, although so far I cannot find one feature that I liked a lot on the Acura system: the "by distance of travel feature. On the Acura, if you're looking for a gas station or restaurant, you can simply tell the system to list them all by distance of travel from your current location. Also, in the Acura, you can search by business phone number ... I don't recall seeing that on the Toyota system.

As for HID lights: my Acura had those and I would really like to get some for the 4Runner. Any more advice or suggestions, please post here.
