Hello PUBLISHERS!

You know, I have been a member to a few forums in the past. One of which was a mod happy mustang group when I had my GT500. But I do have to say, after reading and browsing through this forum, this is a top notch group of people. I have not seen so much good information and ideas for something in a long time.

Why isn't there a T4R only magazine out there. There are butt loads of "Off Road" and "4X4" mags but really, how practical is it to have a super charged big block with 48" tires on an everyday driver? Now if there is a magazine out there, PLEASE point me to it. I haven't even had a chance to look at the other generations in this forum. There has to be enough here to print volumes of articles. And I am sure there a few members that would be more than willing to offer build advice with plenty of pictures. Yeah you guys know who I am talking about.

I'm just say'n.
:lmao:

I would prefer something like the online only Jeepfreak magazine. I don't want a rag of beatup old off-road rigs but more a lifestyle magazine that does more human interest on people who build and use the vehicles, from hardcore to dd, and documentary stories that include all aspects of trips from the camping to the off-roading etc.

I doubt it will happen though based on the niche market, unless done online like Jeepfreak.

The closest things I can think of would be the toyota 4x4 mags. A magazine based purely on T4R probably wouldn't do well in sales or subscriptions based off of the small percentage of us who are actual enthusiasts and not just another soccer mom.

Well, let's again look at the math:

The 5th gen 4Runner sells about 5K units/month. Out of that 5K about 10% (if that) are enthusiasts. Of that 500, 90% could write most of the articles. So, to publish a magazine the per issue cost would be about $25,342.00 lol. Just kidding. All joking aside there are some very talented and knowledgable individuals here that could be at home with ANY vehicle, not just 4Runners. SoCalTrail's mods and Harper's Mods and Andrew and Brock E and QJake and RiDE and Jesse1983 and Philly and Jango and Ducmonsta and Okki and Antman and on and on and on are all talented guys. I just know about machines and put way too many miles on mine (by learning more about machines) to mod it much so I just help out with formulas and concepts. I will give a big shout out as well to the good people here! Now if I could only find a 50+ mtn bike forum like this...

I am sure there is some.....but really, how many mod's can one do on a Mtn Bike? Tires, chain, derailer, brakes, seat and handle bars....maybe shocks? What else? Maybe that is the reason for the lack of a forum....but you, being the intelligent resourceful person you are, can certainly start one, right?

Never know, might be a big money maker........

This is the Toyota 4WD magazine I get and I recommend.......... 4WD Toyota Owner Magazine: Tacoma/Land Cruiser/4Runner/FJ Cruiser/Tundra/Everything Off-Road Toyota!

I second the above. Great magazine

Check out the overland journal Overland Journal | The Publication for Environmentally Responsible, Worldwide Vehicle-Supported Expedition and Adventure Travel
or ExPo: Adventure and Overland Travel Enthusiasts

Most are daily drivers, alhough not hard core rock crawling there are some well made and practical rigs in those groups. I've never read the Journal but it looks interesting. I think that's about as close to what your looking for even though it's not Toyota specific, lots of LC, Hilux, Tacoma's though

MTBR.com is a pretty good mountain bike forum. Been a member on there for many many years. Haven't actively posted in about 3 though.

I'm honored 1E but my name has no place with the aforementioned greats! I've only copied and/or stolen their ideas :wink2:

X2 on Toyota 4WD magazine! Good read and I agree monthly would be better but i'll take the current quality over less articles and more adds that it would take for quantity. :boink:
