HELP, Bull Bar install

Just started to install a Westin Bull Bar in a 2011 SR5...can't get the 3 factory bumper mount bolts off...sprayed the bolts with penetrating oil...have a breaker bar on the socket 14mm (so its a small bolt)...I feel if I apply any more pressure I'll break the head of the bolt off! Any ideas?? Could or should I apply heat to the bolt...use an impact ratchet on the bolt?? I sure don't want to bust it off..need to remove three each side...thanks Dan

Give a few taps with a hammer, dont mash the head, or heat as a last resort. Remember to not overheat it, don't want to change the temper.

Righty tighty, lefty loosey... Shouldn't need to heat a bolt that's only been in there such a short time. Put some muscle behind that b!tch.

OK I'll try a 1/2inch breaker bar on a 14mm socket and give it some muscle...see what happens

On Sam's truck I needed to heat a couple bolts to get off. It seems a little bizzare since these trucks are so new, but it was the only way to get it off. Like Pat said, do not over heat. Just heat evenly and try to break loose, reheat, try again, etc. You will get it off after some time. Try to direct the heat at the nut not the bolt itself. What heat does is expand the metal, you obviously want to expand the nut (make bigger) so its easier to get off.

Bull Bar installed

Thanks to all for all the help...1/2 breaker bar with 12 pt 14mm socket gave it a good pull and off they came...now on to the fun part on mounting the Bull Bar...Dan

stripped on of the bolts when i was doing mine.

replacement bolt from toyota was 1.90

12 pointer and an impact woulda made life easier for me lol.

make sure when you put the bolts back in to throw a little anti-seize on.

Bumping an old thread... is there enough clearance for an impact wrench in there? I sold my air tools before I moved and am considering ordering another for this.
