Help me identify this plug

2003 SR5 V6.
What is this plug I found under the hood release lever?
Was just doing my usual business checking stuff and found this strange plug next to the air temperature sensor. I don't know what it plugs into nor what is it for. Anyone have an idea?

Might be a harness for an auxilliary fan for an export market such as the Middle East. This has been done on past generations and other chassis (80's, 100's, etc)

interesting plug. I just got home and checked mine (03 SR5 V8). have the same plug, except that it's not tucked in, rather plugged in to what appears to just be a blank plastic holder just under the hood latch. I followed the wire to the horn just to the right. could it be related to a factory alarm? :shrug:

For me the temperature sensor is the black plastic thing in the middle of the arrow in my first picture. It's a bit hard to see, but you can make it out.
It would be on the third hole on the 2nd picture if it was in the photo, but it's not shown.

This plug seems to run along with the harness that goes into the temp sensor and alarm, but it stops parallel to the latch area and is really small. I wonder if it is something for a specific market/euro/etc.
