Jones, That the kind of info Ive been looking for. If I put on a SW bumper, I will need more than spacers due to the added wt correct?
I know adding all this stuff will affect ride as will tires but want to keep it minimal as possible.

Many of us are glad to help you but we've covered a LOT of what you're asking for in previous threads (as I've mentioned twice). While there is nothing with asking it again, many of your questions can/will be answered if you search through the forum and get a feel for what others have done (with tons of pics).
The one thing you really need to consider is if you're really doing all of this for looks, you're gonna spend a $HIT ton of money on things that you don't really need, which will change the ride quality, a decline in gas mpg amongst other things.
Get yourself a moderate 2-3" lift, some AT tires, a Grille Guard swap and call it a day. Adding a big lift, big tires and heavy bumpers/rockers are a complete waste if you're not gonna use them.
That's my .02 cents!

Has anyone noticed that Jeep is starting to sell "modded" jeeps straight from the dealer? I don't know if it's across the country but the one I drive by every day (Danvers, MA) has about 7-10 up front on the lot with a lift, big nobby tires, black wheels, winch, etc.
just went to their website and copied down a picture to show you what I mean. This orange one is a 2012 listed at over $40k!
Surfandturfer, I'm not sure if you already have the 4runner but if you don't this might be one avenue to go for you. Much less hassle and you could see what it's going to look like completed before you purchase.
My opinion on this is I would recommend a 2" lift, larger tires, a roof rack and a couple hella type lights on your grill. I would wait on putting on a new bumber. That's a pretty significant modification to your vehicle that is really only needed if you're going to be wheeling and drastically changes the look of your vehicle. If down the line you or your wife/gf want to sell your vehicle you're going to have a much more difficult time, you can always take off the rack, put smaller tires back on etc.

Dan and Toy, I see your point. I will start with a Daystar or Toytec spacer kit, tires and a rack. Gonna hold off on that bumper. I am not a huge fan of grill guards but will shop them. I seen pics on the Icon site. That is a CLEAN looking rig. Just plain on the outside. Thanks for all the help to those of you who advised as opposed to those of you who bashed. Unlikely I will stick my toes in this water again. Too many thing that bite.
