HELP! rear windshield washer and wiper not working!

Had our 2011 Limited for 3 weeks now and when I needed to clear some dirt off the rear windshield, the washer and wiper doesn't work.

It's the R side lever and you twist the end, correct? Am I following the controls correctly or am I missing something??

The usual problem is that the rear window is down just a hair. Try making SURE your rear window is up all the way.

Yes, that happen to quit a few T4R Owners.

Today i ran out of washer fluid after that i poured new rainx bug wash. But when i turned the rear washer on it wasn't working & neither the wiper. So i swapped the 15A fuses but nothing worked. After that i rolled down the rear window & back up again AND IT STARTED WORKING.....

Hmmm, that might come in handy. The last few mornings the mirrors have been heavy with dew but not the back window. I wonder if I crack the back window a bit if the mirror/rear defog button will still defog the mirrors? I found on my FJCruiser if you didn't have dew or ice on the rear window then the heating element on the rear window would discolor badly. On the other hand, I could take a few seconds to wipe the dew off the mirrors and not worry about it...

haha, this happened to me too. called the dealer and the tech told bout this trick, sure enough. i must have put my hand on the window switch getting in and moved it down a bit.

I'm not in my rig (obviously), but isn't there a rear wiper switch down by the E-brake? I could have swore I saw it there, and ignored it. lol

Yup, that's my favorite switch to use when I'm cruising down the freeway and have a bit of mist on my back window.

Sometimes it takes a while playing down there since you have to use both hands...

rear washer not working after battery disconnect

After my battery ws replaced the rear washer & wiper did not work. The rear window was fully up but had to be re-initialized by putting half way down, then fully up and holding the up button for an extra few seconds.

Happened to me this week. No spray from the rear washer. oh course I checked T4R and found this thread.

Rolled the window all the way down and back up and it started working again!
