Help requested, projector install questions

I know TRS will be able to help me tomorrow, but I thought maybe someone would know the answers on here today.

One of the photos shows the LED halo in the shroud. I'm not sure how this is supposed to mount. It fits perfectly where it is in the photo, but I don't see how the light will come out the front of the shroud at the cutouts. Did they send me the wrong size?

Second, the threaded shaft doesn't seem to protrude far enough out the back of the Eagle Eye housing. I can only engage one thread with the nut. Do I need to clearance this area for the nut? Thanks.

As for the LED halo. The one you have is meant to go on the front of the shroud. If you want it on the inside then you need a larger one.

Thank you! I did notice that it was the perfect size for that application. I'll have to exchange them.

You do have to clearance the housing to allow the nut to engage more. They aren't made with projectors in mind, so modifying is needed for a proper install. Get the nut tight or the light will tend to bounce as you hit bumps.

Perfect, thank you!

Any idea how deep I'll need to clearance that? I assume that I'll want to leave at least a 1/16" so the clocking ring has something to grip, and deep enough that the nut that holds the bulb in place can be tightened fully?
