That sounds like a good deal, but for that kind of money, there are several superior alternatives on the used market. And with a new model coming, the depreciation drop is going to speed up. You're much better off with a 335d, M3, RS4, or 997 911 - many of which can be had for about $40k now.
Now back to our regularly scheduled programming....
I think I'd definitely eat the depreciation hard on all of those. The appeal of the IS is that this is available to me at a price that isn't available to the typical car buyer. It is all a moot point anyway because my wife will never go for it. I ultimately want an FR-S because I was small, light, fun, and cheap.
335d? Blech. Who gives a hoot about gas mileage on a car that will only see a couple thousand miles a year? There is life after 4000RPM.

I think it's a done deal...When we went out to dinner Sunday, I intentionally made her stand next to the truck with it in plain sight and said, "don't you love the 4Runner, look at it, it's awesome?" No reply with mention of wheels. i wish I'd have done this test years ago! Chalk one up to "wife not noticing".

Yes, RWD. I'm definitely going to buy one. It is a matter of timing. That one that I borrowed will be off lease in December so I can throw my name in the hat to buy it from the company. If my name isn't drawn, I'm going to see what the release series brings and buy next spring. I've been waiting for the FT86 since the concept first showed up in 2009. Just need to be a little more patient.
