Help with Cooling System, why am I boiling over?!!?

11 yrs after original post, same issue. What fixed it?

At this age, it could be nearly anything. What have you looked at so far? Do you have a way of reading the actual coolant temperature (not just the gauge on the dash) - OBD-II live data, etc.?

The ship has sailed on all original radiators, caps, hoses, heater valves, and heater hoses. Throttle body and oil cooler hoses are not far behind. Better off replacing these all if you have an issue and are certain it isn't head gasket related.

See post #12 in this thread. I listed all the oem part #'s for the hoses on a 2000 v6.

What other hoses should I replace?

Radiator caps are not all the same. Different pressure ratings are stamped into the cap. There are various definitions of pressure. You may or may not see psi printed on cap. A new proper rated thermostat and proper rated cap might solve this issue.

I found the radiator cap information I read about recommended pressure-0.9 bar (approx 12.7 psi) the other sold is 1.1 bar (approx 15.5 psi). The higher the radiator pressure the higher the temperature. Perhaps someone can calculate the temperatures? I would think lower temperatures are better?

Either pressure is fine - your engine is not getting to those temperatures (or, at least, it shouldn't). If you have an OEM style radiator, get an OEM radiator cap. I have had more than one aftermarket radiator cap leak from new - and cause overheating issues.

I still bet there is some other issue through...
