Helping a buddy. Can you help?

My buddy is looking at a 96 4runner, but I think the odo has been rolled back. Toyota owners shows 2 service records with conflicting odo readings. Does anyone have a carfax sub so we can check that out? VIN is JT3HN87RXT0020207

the free carfax reports use the license plate instead of vin. I might be getting one in a few days ill let you know.

also, what is the current odometer reading? There are plenty of signs that can show a rolled back odo...

I got a carfax for it. It has been rolled back. Carfax saves the day again!

I might not have been rolled back if the odo failed! A lot of people will by used ones and put them not thinking about how the mileage will be reflexed on Carfax.

And on the other hand, a lot of people will drop in gauge clusters from the pull-a-part to deliberately try to con people.

And on they other hand they might now as well! I've done it when a cluster went out, and had no other choice.
