Also, if you do swap for the Dobinsons, you would need to get non-XREAS sway bars. Since XREAS helps reduce body roll with the suspension, the sway bars aren't as thick which means they're softer. Once you go to regular shocks/struts they aren't helping in that area nearly as much, so you need to get the sway bars that are for a 4R that does not have XREAS.

Need to replace sways with trd* or Sr5 4w. The Sr5 2wd sway us same as Limited.

Truthfully, I don't know. It was back in December of 2020 when I got the quote and it was verbal. I presume it involves replacing a lot of the XREAS components and other stuff.

Do both the front and rear sway bars need to be replaced? I presume I should replace the sway bar links too...?

I tried looking on YT for replacing sway bars on 4Runners, but only found a real short video that lacked a lot of detail. Is this something a novice could do? I'm not afraid of wrenching on my vehicles (I do my own brakes, oil changes, etc.,) but suspensions are a skillset I've not developed (yet!).

Stick with stock non-XREAS sway bars or perhaps go aftermarket? TIA!

It appears there are two different part numbers for sway bars (stabilizer bars) for the 2015 4R's: 48811-60390 and 48811-60340

The various online Toyota parts vendors don't go into specifics for the difference between the two part numbers, but they list "Limited, SR5, TRD Pro, Trail" in the fitment section for both part numbers.

Both part numbers list "with dynamic suspension" in their descriptions too. The xxx90 part number is $266 and the xxx40 part number is $224.

I can't tell which one is the thicker version installed in the SR5 and which on is the smaller version installed only in the Limited. I'll have to call the parts dept at my dealer to see which part I need.

Subscribed. I’ve removed the XREAS and replaced it with Bilsteins, but haven’t messed with the sway bars yet (it wasn’t on my radar). I replaced the rear links with aftermarket stock size because one broke in the process of adding lift springs.

The 4Runner seems to drive ok without the upgrade, but makes sense to replace with the beefier versions to be safe. I guess that’s the thing I’ll be researching now.
