Helppp!!! Is anyone running Toytec 3"'coil lift???

New member
Ready to purchase the 3" Toytec coil lift. I'm not trying to break the bank and don't wanna use spacers. I want to run a 285/70/17, I understand I may need to trim some fender well, but am up for it. I found this kit on Toytecs website, but haven't seen anyone running it.... Any takers on this discussion??? Thanks!

I installed a 3" Toytec lift, I ordered a complete kit with coil over and bilstein shocks for the front and coils for the back. It was about $900. I'm running 17x8 rims with 285/70/17 Discover ATP tires. Had to push front fender wells forward about 1" and very minor trim on inside of front fender with no rubbing at all. I also installed new light racing upper control arms. Here is a picture.

Looks great! I'm looking to be about $900 out the door. I can get the coils for $400 with Military discount, the shop charges $400 and some change for install plus alignment. Are you running spacers? I just bought Spidertrax 1.25" spacers.
I'm sure I'll have to adjust the fenders some just as @Swellrunner had to do. Forgot his T4R name.

The kit you linked is for the springs only. You'll need shocks too to accommodate the higher ride height. The OEM shocks would over-extend really easily.
 
your gonna need to get either coilovers or some bilstein 5100s to go with those springs. The stock shocks/struts arent up to the task of keeping those springs in check because of 1) length and 2) valving.

and personally i would get a different rear spring. i ran the 3" toytec coils originally and just didn't find them that good of a spring, just to stiff and not enough length to do anything cool with. i would strongly suggest getting either the Metaltech rear springs (yes you can run them with standard length lift shocks), or even the icon lift springs. Both are a dual rate spring that ride and perform amazing on and offroad, plus they're pretty much the same price as the toytec rears. You can then get the front bilstein struts from where ever you like and get the extended travel BOSS rear shocks which are just a rebranded custom length 5100. itll end up being about 1200 - 1400 all said and done if youre gonna have a shop install it.

Okay, thanks for all the great info. Suffice it to say, I will probably get these and the Billstein 5100's.

I'm not running spacers. New front coil overs and rear coil springs and shocks. I installed myself in about 8 hours.
