I've always owned guns and carried them just about every day and when I'm alone in the mountains I have a rifle.

I consider them vital for defense and hunting, plus they're fun to shoot.

It's not even a question for me.

I own guns because I grew up with them, they are fun to shoot, are mechanically interesting, often works of art, and because I like them. There is also the protection element though that is only a small part of the reason I own them and I never really got into hunting.

I have a collection of antique Browning and Colt 22s which are my favorites but I also have an AR which is a lot of fun, some shotguns, a Sig P938 Extreme for EDC, and some others.

I just won a rifle at a fire dept gun bash! That's the only reason I have one.

I hadn't thought much about owning or needing a gun till I was watching the police fleeing the scenes of crimes or not even going to help in some cases during the Rodney King riots in LA many years ago.

I have my Glock I carry daily for personal protection. I have a M16A2 clone AR15 for target shooting, and a SHTF situation. All of my other pistols/rifles are just for fun.

I don't own one and never considered one until I saw humans behave in very strange ways on gas lines after Hurricane Sandy came through.

I never proceeded to get the license and get one but its in the back of my head that I should. I've never had a feeling of being exposed without one (largely because I live in a very quiet, small town with a very responsive police force and 3 FBI field agents living within 5 houses from mine) but I should have one regardless.

Its my Sicilian wife that I worry most about.......she'd literally shoot someone for the slightest thing and I'd have to sleep with one eye open.

I have grown up around firearms my whole life. Mainly for hunting and recreational shooting. Only when I bought a house did I finally get one for home defense. That said, I still don't have a concealed carry license (now just a carry license in Texas that open carry is legal) and don't know that I will ever get one. So for me, mostly just recreational shooting and hunting.

I own them because I like them and I can.
building ar's is a big hobby of mine. I think thats the part I enjoy the most

ive lived in enough bad neighborhoods, and even tho i now live in a good one, they get their fair share of bad people in them too

because the neighboring pit bulls dont stop if you simply use harsh language

I have several pistols stashed around our house in both vehicles and my wife and I are booth ccl holders. I don't carry much but she does. Staying out of politics, I think everyone should be able to defend themselves and their property. The police take over 20 minutes to get to my house. Imagine what somebody could do in 20 minutes....

Because I can. I tell myself it's because the law permits me to and I like the idea of self defence.... but crime around here is just not the same as in the US... from what I see anyway. It's just not something you really need to think about in most of Canada. The other real reason is if North Amercia goes down the tube for any reason, I want to be able to defend my own. Not trying to sound paranoid, but I don't take the civilized world for granted at all.

I bought my hunting rifles for hunting (go figure).

I bought my AR-15 for when Trump is elected and I need to take over a home in Nova Scotia (I'm coming for you, [MENTION=92682]JayceeP[/MENTION] =p)

My handguns are all for concealed carry, in different situations. I typically carry my Walther PPS or Glock 19.

I grew up around guns, used them all the time in the military, and just like them.
