HF VS BB winch mount

My 2 cents.
As for the HF bracket, you still need to fab up the mounting brackets to the frame. That HF bracket might work more easily with a Jeep. I had the Lucrum hidden winch mount on my FJ and they were considerably more than BB charges. Even the US Off-road version is more than BB. I really believe BB is fairly priced.
Next, as for the receiver mounted one. It tried it too. Biggest issue, where do you keep it when it is not in the receiver? Throw it in the back of the T4R? It sticks out too far to leave it on. If you use it on the rear then you need cables to get power and that will run around $100+ or so. On the front you still need a receiver hitch mount.
To summarize my experience and calculations, the BB is a great deal, lowest priced and most convenient option.

What do you plan to mount that channel to?
The aluminum bumper is held in place by a couple of steel tubes that are designed to crush in an impact, and not something I would want to subject to winching. Bud's mount connects to the frame rails.
I wouldn't mess with a hitch mount winch without having an 8 foot bed and putting receiver tube in the bed to hold the winch. PITA hauling around and storing an 80+ pound winch.
The wiring would be pretty spendy for properly sized wire run to the back of the vehicle.

It is, you just can't see it in those pictures. Search my build thread for more pictures showing how it attaches to the frame.

That is the BB winch plate that everyone is talking about...if you look carefully it bolts to the frame rail on each side and is also sandwiched between front bumper support too; then finally u-bolted on. It's not going anywhere, lol.
Safety and recovery is the last place I would look at to save a buck

Unless it is a trail rig that you don't care too much about, I would recommend saving money somewhere other than vehicle recovery gear.This time I got if for sure
