HID Install for 2006 4Ruunner

my bad i have an 2006 sport v8
so i would need 4300k H11 kit, The fogs are 9006 and high beams are 9005 , are the 9005 and 9006 kits 2 they don't have like and all in one kit

I ordered my 4300k kit on 1/11/2011. Just received it. I have a question on model # I have. I have a 2006 SE V8 and Steve at XenonDepot said I needed the 9006 kit for my low beams (that is what was sent to me). After reading thru this posts it looks like I should have the H11 kit. Can someone tell me if I have the wrong kit?? I was hoping to install today  I hope I don't have to send this kit back and wait another 17 days to receive a new one!!

9006 are for the fog lamps. H11 are for the lowbeams. You are good to go. Steve repeats himself alot on here regarding specs, so hes alowed to make at least one mistake.

Thanks for the reply Joe. It sounds like I received the wrong kit then since they sent me the 9006 :redbrick::redbrick:
I sent Steve a PM on Saturday but never heard from him. Sent him another just now. I hope to get the resolved asap. I want some damn HIDs!

GREAT instructions, I installed the Volt 6000k kit from Xenon Depot today using your instructions as a blueprint. My kit was a little different from yours since i didnt have to ground anything and used the factory connectors. It took me about an hour and a half since i had to figure out why one light wouldnt power on but after switching the bulbs they both work perfectly. Great kit! Good job!:trophy:

I installed the Volt kit today (4300k). Everything went very smooth, I did change the polarity connection and the systems looks and performs solid.
I do have one question, I have a factory installed security system that turns the parking and low beams on when lock or unlock operation takes place. Would this hurt any component of the kit over a period of time? Is there a way to disable the low beams for the security system to avoid a problem ( if a problem could arise from this?). Thank you.

yes, that will damage your hid's! you better find a way to disable your low beams when you enable/disable ur alarm!

Hey Guys,

Thank you for taking the time to post some feedback :-)

karmaic1 & JQuiroz: Glad you're enjoying your Volt HID kit :-) Any feedback now that you've had a couple of nights to drive with the lights?

JQuiroz - I would check to see if there is a way to disable that.

Steve

LOVE the kit...so much better than the stock bulbs. Just waiting on my putco bulbs now for the fog lights and i'll be set:surfer:

The Volt kit has been excellent. I did a little adjustment to the beam positions and they work great. I am really enjoying the amount of light output and the whiter color of the 4300k versus others I've seen on the road. I haven't put a lot of time on researching the disabling of the low beams when the factory security system is engaged/disengaged, i'll get to that soon.

Just received my Philips Extreme 4300k H11 kit. Im going to follow this tutorial - it's one of the best ive ever seen! Wish me luck:)

Changing Alarm Light Control

I know this is a long-running thread and JQuiroz posted about 3 years ago, but I was wondering if anyone found any information around changing the alarm light controls? My port-installed "factory" alarm with a Toyota-logo keyfob, lock/unlock/lower read mirror/panic button (on back) setup engages the lights for about 30 seconds whenever arming/disarming the alarm. I would like to switch that to the high-beams or disable it completely prior to installing my new Volt kit. I must not be using the proper search terms to find much information on this. Any help appreciated. Thanks!

oh okay,so it would probably be safe for them to be left on for the 30 seconds after you leave your car since they were already on. The danger is in the lights coming on when you unlock your car and then have to have them turn off and on again once the car needed to be started correct?

Thanks for the great right up!! I don't want to hijack the thread but I'm getting ready to install an have a question. I went with both high beam and low beam, and have ballasts for both. Do I need to use all 4 ballasts or can't I connect the low and high beams into one? Any insight is greatly appreciated!!
