Hollister Hills or "Boy's, I'm in a tight spot" Run

Went out to Hollister with some other members from TacomaWorld. Ended up biting off more than I could chew on one hill. Thankfully no damage to any body panels or the rockers. Can't say the same for the skids, crossmember and the gas tank skid (scratches mostly with minimal denting).

4Runners hold resale value, and I know a guy that own's a body shop, that's why I trade up every 3 years!:eyebrows:

I attempted to make a run up this hill and was the first and only to attempt it. Everyone else started up the bypass and a few made it others not so much. A White Tacoma Sport attempted to make a run at the bypass and ended up snapping the driveshaft at the rear diff (technically the u-joint bit that attaches to the rear diff). I ended up taking the bypass and stopped, engaged crawl control and she walked right up the trail. I have a little video of it but need to edit it a little.

All in all I was not the Man of Constant Sorrow on this run and def impressed the Tacoma folks with the capabilities of the 4Runner.

A friend of mine went on that trip as a ride along, he said he had a blast! Looks like you did too. Great looking 4Runner.

I made it up to where the line was and then walked up to your point and said next time and then took the bypass.

Glad to see another 5th Gen guy out. Next time we hit a spot up I will send you a message and see if you can join.

It was a fun day John. This is the second time I've wheeled with you and that 4Runner of yours is a beast. I mentioned this in another post referencing to your truck that I was thoroughly impressed with the truck's capabilities.
