Hollister Hills Sat 11/12

Seeing if anyone wants to head out to Hollister Hills on Saturday 11/12. I'm pretty sure some guys from NorCalFJ will be heading out and I will be posting this at tacomaworld as well.

Unfortunately I moved to SD but I went out to Hollister several times in 08' 09' and it was great.

You will want to go when it is dry. That place can be quite dangerous when wet. Also, don't ever think of going in the mud pit. T4RLife and many others have done so to their peril.

i hope my runner would survive! i havent been there so i dont know what to expect.

well it is basically a park on the side of several hills. it is pretty big, at least to a city guy like myself.

the trails are sort of like easy going switch-backs with each trail taking you higher and higher. when it is dry, you can probably go all the way to the top without problems but if the trails are wet then it will be dangerous since many of the trails are sloped.

if you are not careful and slide down one of the wet hills you could very well die (because of the slope & vast amount of trees). this is unlikely but I think you will understand better once you go all the way to the top.

Yeah I went out there after it rained and some of the trails were a bit sketchy with the slick mud and the corrosion. It should dry when we go (if no rain) and most of the trails can be done in 2wd. I just want to test out my 4runner and the new suspension.

down thing is though, could I ride with someone?

for being stock with tires (that needs to be replaced).. I doubt I be able to make it up to any of the slippery stuff..

and last time when I went to Hollister, it was Memorial day weekend.. for the most part it was dry but when I was coming home through SFO, it started to rain..

Ok I'm for sure going Sat. There should be a couple of Tacoma's a few FJ guys heading out. It will be muddy, but fun.

Yeah I loved that place when it was muddy! Almost got stuck a few times in the tank trap.

my first wheeling trip was at Hollister..

I went in bone stock with BFG A/T's..

is alot of park, plus the scenery is nice..

with all your mods, you be good to go..

Yeah for sure. It's a pretty tame place granted the mud isn't too slippery. There is another Tacoma noob as well, so you'll bee all good. :thumb3:
