That is a great idea, using a chalk bag. That way it won't interfere as much with your legs when you don't have a water bottle in it. I may have to do this one...

Experimenting with a bolt-on bashy-slidey thing...
(Still needs side supports and some other bits.)
Looking for something in between heavy full plate and naked looking tube bumper.
Not made for crawler clearance - more general trail/DD duty
It will take hi-lift support and improves the smallish step on the OEM bumper by matching the height.

It works perfectly.
Easy install.
Keeps bottle out of the way and readily at hand, keeps it secure, easy no-look bottle put back, no interference with driver.
Not hard mounted. Front seats retain full fore/aft movement. Sometimes use the other one to hold phone or roll of paper towels or whatever.
Unobtrusive, functional, easy install, cheap, durable.
Chalk bags have some structure so the top stays open = no fumbling

GhostRing - how are you liking the rear bashy-thing by now? Have you put it to the test at all? I'm contemplating copying your design I like it so much!
Dude that looks sick !!!! Basically a rock slider .... But for the rear bumper. You know what would also look good , if you welded something on the side to protect the side part of the bumper. Kinda like a mini rock slider but for the side bumper. So you have 360 protection. But either way I like how it looks!!! How does it mount ??

Hey guys! I'm still digging the design so far...
It does need to be tied in on the sides - and I'm reworking it to be 100% bolt on.
( I did a little quick welding to give extra support since it's still in prototype phase)
it should be good for some lite duty swing outs as well. I'll try to get a pic with
all the new junk hanging off of it.
