hood not latching after hood protector installed

Has anyone had trouble latching the hood after installing an aftermarket bug shield. I attempted to install the shield last night; lined it up, drilled the holes, and fastened the included screws. The only problem I had was when I tried to close the hood it would not completely latch. The instructions state that I may have to adjust the hood lock mechanism to allow for the thickeness of the hood protector. I looked at the lock mechanism and it doesn't look like an easy task to adjust. Is this something that is easy to do or should I take it to the dealer to adjust? Thanks in advance for any help.

post some pictures, the thickness could very well be the issue, and i imagine youll have to take the grill out to mess around and re-drill mounting holes for the latch if it comes down to it.

same issue - but solved

What I do is lower the hood slowly until it latches, then i take the palm of my hand and about 6" up from the deflector towards the windshield is where i press down...the area right before it get soft (so u dont dent it). Works all the time.

Check the rubber stoppers at both corners of the radiator support frame. Its under the hood at the front corners when you close it. You can screw them up or down to adjust where the hood rests on them. Screw them in just a bit and check it again until it latches. Hope this helps. I noticed a while ago on the freeway my hood would dance/shake from the wind, i adjusted the hood bumpers up a little, and now its firm and doesnt move.
