How are the 5th gen's rolling

So the 5th gen has been around for about 5 years now, how are they doing for folks? Any common recurring issues? I have a 4th gen 06 and was thinking maybe when the 6th gen comes out I will upgrade to the 5th?

4th has been best vehicle ever owned, so the bar is high

my 2010 was purchased by a friend 4 months ago (when I picked up my '15).
Still not a single issue... and it is a little over 60K miles now
 
our 2010 SR5 has 110k right now and only problem I ran into was fuel sending unit started to go out at 98k. Fuel guage stopped reading accurately at 1/4 tank. other than that all is well even with the modification I have made I have not run into any problems.

I've got like double that on my '11, including beating the hell out of it off road. Besides aftermarket parts that have had problems, the only things that have failed me is the front door checks and my driver's side window auto-up. All the other windows auto up/down just fine, but I have to hold the button to roll my driver's window up.
 
Nothing major or at least anything my customers are complaining about. Toyota in general is a solid company with solid trucks
 
My only legitimate complaint would be the painted surface between the rear TE bumper and the plastic trunk molding are easily scratched. Wish the TE bumper could just go all the way to the top.

Considering I'm knit picking, I'm quite content :)

Typical. Every 4Runner I've owned has had that issue with the fuel gauge.

Spray on bed lined mine. No longer slippery and the dogs get in and out easily now
 
I don't have many miles on my '11. ~60k. Only premature failure has been the lift gate struts in the rear. $30 parts and 10min to replace. Only other issue so far was was the wheel speed sensor wire, but that was caused by a modification to the suspension setup.... inner tie rod also had a little play, but it could have went a long way like that and it was caused by some offroad beat downs.

Does that throw off the computed MPG's and range?

no, just stopped reading below 1/4 tank. Just froze there and wouldn't register any lower. lead to a empty tank. just happened to be in the driveway when it happened.
 
There was some guy that posted here, maybe 33, took out a girl, maybe around 20, and the first thing she said was something like, why didn't you buy an X5?

Mine threw a code, fuel or exhaust sensor. Its here somewhere. Dealer repaired it.
