first you have to have an aftermarket cd player and second he probably made custom brackets to attach them together.
 
you'll need a single din cd player to take part fo your double din stock, also youll need a CB with a front output speaker

i can give you pictures of mine which is installed where the sunglass holder is up by the map reading lights.
 
to each his own but that dude has way too much crap hanging and dangling and sticking out of the dash.

Funny when people wreck or roll vehicles like. The inside of the cabin turns into a "dryer". Things go tumbling hitting you in the face.
 
thats Rics 4runner, he uses everything, the GPS, the XM, CB, and the thing thats up there on the overhead lights isnt there anymore.

he doesnt always put his sunglasses up there either.

if you actually do long distance trips like us, 150+ miles offroad, you would actually understand, but obviously you dont!
 
I drive close to 2000 miles 2xs a year on a trip. I'm opposite I start feeling cluttered. I like my rig to be nice and clean and organized. But like I said to each his own. I'd just rather get a headunit that combines, the sat radio and gps. But those arent cheap.

I did that same CB install into my 3rd gen and it was really easy. I didn't have to make anything custom, it just mounted right up with the CD player cage and was easy to get done. The only thing I had to do, was I had to buy a "45 degree elbow" for the antenna to come out the back of the CB, it's a little tight if your antenna wire comes straight out the back of the CB. I then ran the wire under the center consol, under the back seat and up the driver side C pillar. I had the local CB shop cut the antenna wire and install a male and female end to the cut, so I can take the antenna on and off the roof and then just leave that male plug hanging out at the headliner. Came out super clean, and I love the CB!

thanks alot for showin me that....that is how i want my setup to look like.....i will post some pics of what i am talking about tommrow i would now but my car is getting new tires.. and do you think i could do it with any cb or the one that you have?
 
Thats sweet i have always wanted a CB/PA in my 4Runner and that is really sweet and flush i think that i might have to go buy one
 
The unique thing about that CB, is that it fits in that DIN spot perfect...and it has the front firing speaker. Most CB's have a top mounted speaker, and you wouldn't be able to hear it if it were mounted like that. I would go with that particular model, they aren't that expensive, and they work great. Any CB enthusiast will tell you that the CB is only 10% of the quality...the other 90% is the antenna. Go with the Wilson Lil' Wheel or Wilson 1000 for the best quality.
 
hey dirt what kind of cb is that.... will the Wilson Lil' Wheel or Wilson 1000 fit like that?
 
The CB is a Cobra 18 WX-ST II. Available from any online CB shop, any brick and mortar CB shop, and all over EBay.

I had to have the antenna cord cut and have that connection installed so I could take the antenna off the roof when I wanted. You will probably need to take your new antenna into a CB shop and tell them where you want the cut to be made and they can do the work.
