Sent you a message MTD
It doesn't seem like this thread is real active but Ill update it anyway.
After receiving the URD patch harness and making my connections again, I found several mistakes that I had made from my first attempt. I got confused only following MTDs chart and after looking closer at AEMs directions I got it right the second time.
However I am having another issue now.
I am not getting any voltage through the O2 sensor resistor. At first I thought the 10k ohm resistor was too much so I stepped down to a 2.2k, which initially worked but would occasionally not pick up the voltage at start up so I then tried a 1.5k, and now a 1k ohm resistor all with no voltage being picked up by the FIC6.
Do you think my Oxygen sensor is on its way out and is getting weak?
When it was working with the 2.2k resistor I was able to do some tuning and the AFRs were responding to my O2 skewing, so I feel like it was functioning.
Im not getting any CEL but I can't really drive the truck either, it starts fine but stays in Open loop and runs extremely lean at ~18 afr.
Sorry its a 99 Tacoma. Its a narrow band O2.
Then I think the 10k resistor is pretty much a non-negotiable. Try switching it out and I think you'll get better results.
With the 10k resistor in place the truck won't come out of Open loop mode because its not picking up the O2 sensor. Even with the bypass harness in place of the FIC6, it won't come out of open loop.
Yes this absolutely the only way to tune this type of system. When I installed those injectors and used the injector size chart it was pretty far off. Its been awhile since I've messed with mine now, but when I tuned it I found that monitoring my short term fuel trims to be invaluable. With out monitoring that I had no way of knowing where to set my o2 map and you have to have that o2 map in sync with your fuel map.
Well after getting the truck running somewhat nicely on the stock injectors I am now trying to run the 305cc green 7mge Supra injectors (pn23250-70080)
And I am having issues. The truck is running WAY rich, it will start and barely idle but after startup the afrs immediately plummet to ~10.4. I initially went into the settings for the fuel map and did the injector size change from the old 240cc injectors to the new 305cc injectors, this gave a net -22% fuel trim.
So Ive have done the following trying to trouble shoot it:
Ive played with the IRT inputting everything from 0 all the up to 4000 microseconds. It maxes out at about 4050ish and at that max it seems to smooth out the idle a little and the injector duty rises up from 1% to 2%. But the afrs still don't move off of ~10.4.
When I adjust my fuel map for less fuel, I can kill the truck at around -50% or so but again, afrs still don't move.
Blocked off the air assist vacuum lines from the IAC- didn't seem to make any difference.
Swapped a different MAF sensor in- no difference.
The truck has a new front o2 sensor with ~500mi on it.
Anyone who's controlling larger injectors with the FI/C6 have any input?
was looking into running the same setup for my supercharger but it seems there are many issues with this AEM setup for the 5FV-FE motor.
I have a 2004 tacoma crew cab (same engine) and wanted to upgrade to supeercharged but now im giving it second thoughts.
did the AEM with larger injectors work out?
or should i just go with the URD 7th injector kit.
