I did this today. My truck has approx 60000 miles and it took a good 4 - 5 pumps to get new grease out of the spider yokes.
The slip yokes, I did about 7 pumps, nothing came back out of the zerk fitting hole when the truck was bounced up and down, but I did not want to over-grease them, so maybe I will grease them again in 6000 miles or so, after it has had a chance to heat up and spread out. (the truck is still not road registered so I couldn't do this today)

I bit the bullet and bought two lock and lube grease guns.
They are awesome,
I use Mystik high temp (red) for the zerks, . and Mystik moly for the slide yoke
I did not lift the car, just move it back and forth till the zerks were showing up. for the zerks, pump until old grease is out.

I had no problem with that.
try to get the longer lock n lube fitting.
I use the longer one for the zerks and the short one for the slide yoke.

I was concerned about "where does the old stuff go"
Since unlike the spider you cant just push thru and overload it. Mine hasnt (likely) been done in 82k so im concerned she's dry

both guns will work... HF will need a push on type coupler though...
as for the grease, yeah that valvoline will work too.

thanks , looks like the amazon one comes with the coupler. Ill probably just go that route and order from there.

both will work and have the correct couplers
everything i expected to go wrong went wrong. :canada: ..... grease gun stopped working and fitting was got stuck on 3 of 6. Did pump grease into each zerk min of 3/4 each. It wasnt too bad of a job just frustrating .
Next project is searching for a new suv or truck, 4runner will stay. Wife approved of a tundra or another crewcab.

Yeah that’s why I bought the more expensive mechanics one…I try to stay away from tools made of Chinesium. Better luck in future.
