How to Remove Pins from Elec Connector

How do I remove the pins fron this style electrical connector?

On other connectors, I have been able to pry up the plastic 'clip' on the connector and use a needle to release and pull out the wire. But, that method does not seem to be working.

Any suggestions?

i have yet to find a tool you can buy that will remove any of the toyota pins. i have been depinning for a few years now and took alot of practice and good eyes. i have made a few depinning tools but it still takes work. filed down paper clips to filed down pocket screwdriver. its hard to explain how to depin. you have to pop that release tap on top like you have. than you look from the front of the connector. its hard to explain but theres a little tab above or below the pin depending on which way your holding it. you have to push up or down on the tab and remove the pin at the same time. takes practice. its possible to damage the connector. best bet is to take it a toyota dealer and see if they would do it for you

Do you always release the pin from the front or is it possible that it would be easier form the wire side?

you have to make sure the top lock tap is popped up. i have always done it from the front. you cant get it from the wire side because the wire is in the way

take a clear picture of the front just so i can make sure. this is a toyota connector right? i have depin a ton and i have always done it from the front

Take a look at the wiring diagram posted in the sticky.

Once you identify the plug # you can cross reference the pin. They actually show you a drawing of the pin style in each plug. That will take the guess wok out of it.

With a helper holding the plug and gently pulling on the wire, a sewing needle works sometime to release that pin.
