Starting another little project. Adjustable bumpstops for the front.

The idea is; Drill and tap the 1-5 ACME thread for the bumpstops to thread into, weld on 2in dia. plate to match the bumpstops, Weld a bung into some tubing for them to screw into, lock nut to keep them in place. Then find some way to mount them. We shall see how this goes.

There will be more updates on this tomorrow.

Maybe I'm just abusive, but I've never been able to make those urethane "traction bar snubbers" last as bumpstops. They always end up splitting. Just thought I'd mention it before you put a lot of time into them.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm going to order another set or two as spares. I've read other places that they don't last too long with hard use and are considered a "consumable" item.

here's some of the progress made today. the adjustable part of the bumpstops is pretty much done. Now i just have to work on mounting them.

OK i am at a loss with this steering.:frusty:

Today I went through and put teflon tape on all of my fitting and made sure they where tight. I installed a PS cooler and made sure I was running the fluid UP through the cooler. And my reservoir is now mounted Higher than my pump.

It seems like i have all of The air bled out of the system. But at anything above 2,000 RPM the pump will start wining and then the fluid will foam??. The only thing i know to try now is to replace the pump??

Help anyone?????

Got a Ifs width rear to go in, and swapping my original welded 3rd back in.

Still haven't had time to work on my PS problems yet.

Stock pump. I don't know for sure if it is drilled out, but it almost acts like someone drilled it out too much. I'm going to try another pump when it warms up a little.

I would, I think 13/64 is the recommended size.

Ok cool I've got some 13/64 at work, I'll go ahead and drill it while it's out.
The limb didn't do too much damage. Just the headlight and and the trim around it. I think the grill will go back in place.

Haven't got around to fixing it yet. I'm debating weather or not i should do a 79' round headlight and grille swap instead of buying new parts to fix what i have.

If it was me I would fix it with the original grill and lights I like the round ones but the front of your truck looks like a beast like it was.. just my opinion.

before i even saw your reply i went and found a 79 2wd grille and head lights. they should be in momentarily.

And done! not 100% sure if i like the 2wd grille, but it might grow on me.

everything fit relatively well, the only major thing that had to be changed was the turn signal plugs.

Looks good are the lights better worse then the other ones ...I also like the old Toyota emblems ..
