I got my SR5 today... here is how much i paid

This is pretty AMAZING. Your sales tax is 5%, so you paid approx. $30,800 before tax for an 2011 SR5 4x4 with an MSRP of $36,600. WOW!!!!! - $6,000 below MSRP.:bravo:

I need to take you with me if I ever need to negotiate anything.

Unfortunately I live in NC so the sales tax is higher when you are titling it in NC. I believe $31,200 was the final before tax/tag/title....but close enough. NC tax is way higher than SC tax.

The sales rep I had been talking with for 2 weeks screwed up. When my wife and I got there (after driving 5 hours...we were actually on the way to my parents house in Greenville, SC and stopped by the dealership) he said "oh...its not here" so I asked if he sold it and he said "no.... one of our employees took it home for the holidays since it was a demo" I flipped! Turns out the GM drove it to the airport to fly home to florida. So I met with the head sales manager and expressed my anger in a controlled fashion explaining how we had driven that far and I had confirmed with the sales rep the day before what time we would be arriving for that specific vehicle. First of all the sales rep said sorry and didn't try anything to keep my wife and I from walking away...when he knew we were there ready to buy. Second, he didn't tell me it was a used vehicle..when I asked for a brand new vehicle.

The sales manager did a really good job trying to make things better. I told him I specifically wanted a new vehicle...not a demo with 1500 miles on the odo. I told him I already had an offer from a different dealership in the area and told him they offered me $32,200. I actually had several other dealers offer me $32,500 in the Charlotte, NC area as well as Hendersonville, NC. So he said he would eat the cost on a bunch of items. And when I met with him to look over the vehicle...I talked him down some more after expressing more disappointment with the service provided.

I think the main reason for the low estimates was because I called about 6 different dealerships, and said "hey...I have 5 other quotes from other dealers in the area. We are buying a vehicle in the next few days. Whoever gives us the lowest price is where we are going. This is exactly what I want (insert specs here)...what can you do. I dont' want anything else other than what I have listed.

As soon as they quoted me...I asked what the invoice was and for the most part..they all got pretty close to invoice.

I didn't even bother looking at the sticker. I just called them and gave the exact specs on what I wanted (options/color/etc). That way I already got a low quote without having to be face to face.
