That is it! You are out of the V-8 4X4 ClubCursed? Why?
If you upsize to 265/270/17 the spare tire will still fit underneath. True, if you do want the 285's your spare will not fit underneath but then you will have rubbing...
Sometimes this Board is like the Sneetches. Some want star bellies and some don't. Heck, I chose the Sport Edition to have better handling and I never thought I would do any extreme suspension upgrade. I figured at most maybe spacers.
But even I have decided to upgrade to coil overs and SCRAP the XREAS system. But I don't have any regrets. I like the charcoal interior, the telescopic steering wheel, the wheels and of course the hood scoop.
Enjoy the V-8, put on 270's with the spacers and it'll look great. Even better, the spare will fit underneath and you won't have any rubbing.
I apologize for the obscure Dr. Seuss reference above. I was traumatized by his stories as a kid![]()

I orginally walked in to get a sr5 4x4 v6, and walked out with the an 05 sport model 4x4 since it was cheaper. I guess i cant do burnouts like my younger days, that why i am cursed. : )
i did not know much about 4runners when i bought them. I always wanted one, but never thought i could afford it. I have had a few Tacoma's and a Double Cab Tundra, all of them lifted. I want to do the same and Josh did since i like the look with the bigger tires. Rubbing dont bother me, i just turn up the radio : )
