I just had a bad feeling today. I was out running some errands and as I was passing this dude he decided he wanted to be in my lane and side-swiped my T4R. The damge was mainly just scuffs on the gray cladding and my running board, but there is also a dent and scratch in the paint right in the middle of my front passenger door where his side mirror hit. Anyway, I have already scheduled it to go in the shop on the 23rd to the tune of @$1400.........thank god for insurance. My insurance company said they would take care of the claims from his company.

Oh, well............poop happens.

Thanks guys.......The funny thing about it was when we pulled over the guy got out and got in my grill ranting and raving saying it was my fault. I just told him to go back to his car and we would wait for the Police. He even made the comment tha he wished "he wasn't something (icouldn't here what he was), but that he would take me over in the grass...." and he made a fighting motion.......at which point I said "yeah, that would be pretty funny......" If it had been a couple of years ago I probably would have been wiping the street with this guy, but I have too many other things to worry about than some 5'10".....maybe 200lb punk.

I know the body shop does good work and really they are only painting the door. The rest is replacing the gray cladding panels. I was just about to give it the Spring cleaning treatment this weekend, so at least I hadn't just done that.

I'll post a couple of shots tomorrow.

BTW make sure you tell your insurance it was his fault, and you told the cops the same. That way your insurance wont go up and you should insist to get your decutable back.

We had bad luck with my GFs Freelander. First the garbage truck hit the rear with its arm and basically destroyed the tailgate. We had to put up quite a fight, but eventually got the deductable back and no blackmark against our insurance. Then a year later an Explorer rearended her on the highway, same story. But eventually we got everything straightened out.

He was in the wrong so no reason you should be penalized for it. Trust me once you have your insurance sorted, they will sort his insurance, which will sort him out better than you can. It will hurt him where it counts, deductable and a nice premium increase will teach him to drive more carefully.

What a dick. I had a guy do the same thing a while ago, when i wasn't in the 4runner. He tried to cut in my lane and i wouldn't let him. (he was wearing aviator sunglass and a pair of parachute pants. Oh, the best part he was in a red corvette)

He got out of his car and walked towards mine. So, not wanting to be a victim of his rage, i stepped out and shut him down fast. Not by hitting him, but standing in his face. He was maybe 5'7 and 180 soaking wet. I am 6'3 and 220. Efing moron. If i really wanted to clean the street with him i totally could have. I just have to much going for me, and i am glad that you new the same thing about yourself.

Obviously nothing happend, but he wasn't expecting someone twice his side, ready to shut his azz down. Needless to say, fight avoided.

Most importantly you're ok. the car can get fixed.

Moral of the storty is, don't step out of your car ever, cuz you never know what the guy is packing or how crazy he is.

It must be that time of year! A lot of 4Runners have seemed to be getting damaged lately. I received a foot long scratch on a back panel in the Atlanta airport 2 weeks ago. Idiots didn't even leave a note. My problem is, it's too deep to buff out, not bad enough for insurance to handle, and Galatic Grey looks like it would be hard to match .

Anyway, good luck with the repairs! One reason I like black trucks is that it is easy to match in situations like these. Hey, look at it this way... if the body shop overestimated the damages, you can put some of the insurance money towards the JDM's
