Hi Kristy. Well, I cant blame you for jumping ship. I had a 2006 4R Sport and I loved the thing. Best vehicle I ever owned. I traded it in this year (i was wearing the 2006 out) and purchased a 2016 Trail. My first brand new vehicle and purchase from a dealership. It was ordered and shipped to my dealer directly from Japan just for me. And I hate it. I wish I never bought it. Got 9k miles on it and I am looking to get myself back into a 4th gen. I found one that I want and the price and mileage is good but its 3000 miles away. LOL. The search continues. 5th gens blow.

Either way, I dont blame you for jumping ship. Good luck to you with your new LC.

I had an '08 Sport. It was really fun to drive.

Test drive a 2005 or newer 100 before you decide you have to have a 4th gen. The 100 is just a little bigger but a lot more powerful. But be ready to either spend money on it or figure out how to maintain it yourself. We have saved thousands already because we are doing that.

You all make me crazy lol. I totally agree, yet at the same time wanted a new vehicle for reliability purposes. Its weird loving something for the fact that you have to because there is no other vehicle on the new market that meets your needs.

My '07 LC has been more reliable than my '10 4r that had half the miles. I drove it to MT last summer, towing a trailer, by myself and will do it again in '18. I have complete faith in it.

Not really. Go over to the 200 section on Mud and read up (I'd link it for ya but they are upgrading the site). For the most part, the 200 is about as solid as you can get.

The fact that there are no options, the US only gets the fully loaded cream puff cruiser with rear DVD entertainment etc.. they got an 8-speed trans last year and a really nice touch screen display.

Agree. There is just too much:
- technology
- entertainment
- sophistication
- cush
- money

If they'd decontent it by 25%, and price accordingly, then, maybe ....

It barely fits. Clears by 5 inches or so, haven't really measured. Definitely can't have anything on the roof to get in.

Sorry to say this, but my 10 year old LC, hell, the 15 year old LC, has been more reliable than my 4R. The guy I sold it to has had serious issues with it. I think it had electrical gremlins for sure because I don't remember reading about anything like the ones I had, and now he has.

I put a ton of miles on it since last year and it never lets me down. And it's fast, and powerful. And it looks good. My husband just brought home a horse trailer the LC is capable of towing with ease. I think if you use your vehicle as a tow vehicle/camping rig/grocery getter/kid hauler, the 100 is a nice choice. But yes, you have to be ok with some miles. Some of the 100 forum guys are reporting 300, even 500k miles. They are badass trucks and they last a long time, just like the 4Rs do.

2018 will be a good trip.

Montana first for 2 weeks then husband flies home then WY, CO, and UT with my daughter. Plan on river floats, camping, hiking, then doing 100s in the Hills in Silverton in late July. I think I will rent a house in Paonia to use as base camp. I would love to hang with you. And I will be in Colorado for a long time so it shouldn't be hard to find a time when you can swing over the great divide. No Iceland in 2018?
